Book Review | The Hunger of the Gods by John Gwynne
Today, I’m excited to talk about the second book in John Gwynne’s Bloodsworn Saga: The Hunger of the Gods. This epic fantasy story is filled with all sorts of things to love and I’m so ready to give my thoughts on it, so let’s dive right into the review.
Rearranging My Shelves for Autumn
It’s time to have a casual chat and a simple bookshelf rearrangement again! It’s been quite a while since I last did my bookshelf rearrangement, which was for my summer colors. Now, I’m looking at a more autumnal vibe. I’m thinking purples, oranges, and browns. But don’t worry, this isn’t just a post about rearranging my shelves. I will use this time to chat casually about things I’m doing and a few upcoming projects. This is meant to be a little cozier than the usual content I put out there, so grab some tea or whatever else you drink and let’s get started.
Announcing the Great Discworld Read-Along
It’s my pleasure to announce my first read-along: The Great Discworld Read-Along! This will be a lot of fun, but I’m going to try to pace it out so that people who don’t have a lot of time to read can remain caught up. Today’s post will be an introduction to the read-along, so get ready to take some notes if you’re interested in participating.
I'm Back! July Reading Vlog (Hiking, Exams, Birthday, and More)
It’s been a while. Well, it’s actually only been a month, but it felt like a long month. My July was absolutely packed; I accomplished more in just a few weeks than I have in several years, so let’s talk about everything I’ve done since we last caught up. From hiking a mountain in Colorado to passing exams here in Kansas City, I feel like a totally different person than I was when I released my last post! Amidst all this, I was reading John Gwynne’s The Hunger of the Gods, so I’ll be giving some of my spoiler-free thoughts on that book in this post, too.
Book Review | The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne
ype can be a double-edged sword, though; on one hand, it got me excited for the book, but on the other, it raised my expectations to unbelievable levels. So the question for today’s post is: did The Shadow of the Gods live up to the hype? Let’s get into that in today’s spoiler-free review of the first book of John Gwynne’s Bloodsword Saga!
Book Review | Wrath by John Gwynne
I finished reading John Gwynne’s The Faithful and the Fallen and… well, I have some thoughts. This is going to be a spoiler-free review, but I may do a spoiler talk in the future if I’m up for it regarding my feelings on this series as a whole. For now, though, we’re going to stick to a straightforward review of the final book in the high fantasy quartet. Wrath, the final book in the series, was exciting and brought the story to a well-earned conclusion. I had a good time reading it, though I personally found that I enjoyed Ruin a bit more. We’ll get into that and more in this spoiler-free review of the book!
