Reading My Old Writing | Recent Works
Today, I’m going to be reading from some of my more recent works, two of which were spin-offs of The Overlord Saga that were written to exemplify what I’d learned from writing hundreds of thousands of words for The Overlord Saga. I’m going to be reading excerpts from Of Elegance and Slaughter, Edwin, and even my novel How I Ruined My Life. Since I have so many works to read from for this post—and because the cringe-worthy writing isn’t quite as prevalent in each of these books—I’m going to limit myself to only one excerpt from each piece of work, for this final part of the series.
Reading My Old Writing | The Overlord Saga: Book Two
Today, I’m going over the second book in the series. I actually wrote six books in this series, but unfortunately have only been able to find the first two. So after I finish reading excerpts from The Overlord Saga’s first two books, I’m going to move on to excerpts from other books I wrote after this series, including my published novel How I Ruined My Life. That’ll be in the next post!
Reading My Old Writing | The Overlord Saga: Book One
Hello and welcome to the most embarrassing post I’ve made so far this year. Today, I’m going to be reading some of my old writing. I’ve sampled a few bits from older pieces I was able to gather and will be reading and reacting to these samples throughout this post. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to locate and recover everything that I’ve written. I did pull up some old Overlord Saga drafts. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find more than the first chapter of Elegance and Slaughter, which I only found because it had been used for querying back in the day. Some of these works are over ten years old, so I suspect they’ll be sufficiently cringe-inducing enough to justify this post.
